I have a 1986 Ford LTD, V6 automatic, with air, 109000 miles. The other day, as I was coming up to a red light, I was stepping on the brake to slow down. My car suddenly acted like I was stepping on the gas instead of the brake. After that, it idled rough, and acted like it really wanted to stall out. What should I check for? Would a tune up help? It hasn't been tuned since last Feb.
Thank you
Sassy

You can clean it first and see if it helps. Be careful not to damage it just spray it clean with contact cleaner and let it dry first.

Good luck and let us know. :)
