I have 7.3L diesel engine which I plug in when temp is expected to be 28 or colder overnight. Until recently, it would start without a hitch in the mornings. I've tried various outlets, and verified they are working, but it now acts as if it was never plugged in at all. It will do a hard/faltering start if around 28 degrees, otherwise it will try, but fail to start. What could be the reasons? Thanks much!

I think that every 7.3 is hard to start in cold weather. My 7.3 turbo will not start unless I wait at least 30 seconds after the " wait to start light" goes out. Then I need to hold the accelerator pedal to the floor(per manual instructions) and release as soon as the engine catches. Are all of the electrical connectors tight up under the fuel filter on yours? Also, a weak battery can be at fault. You need to disconnect each battery in turn to charge them. Check all fuises in the main panel. A blown fuse (or a ground fault interrupt in your 120 vac circuit) can cause problems Reynt
