Smells problem
1991 Ford F350 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Have a 1991 ford f-350 diesel. Started truck the other day to let it run. Smelt like something rubber was burning. Shut truck down after a few minutes. Went out the next day or so to start the truck and it won't start. When I turn key glow plugs click and when I turn the key all the way I just get a click. Batteries see fine and the starter is only about 6 months old. Looked ath the obvious wires and didnt see anything burt, could still smell it alittle though.?
Any ideas.
Thanks

I have the same truck and recently had the same problem. It turned out that my starter solenoid was bad. About a $26 replacement cost. Easy installation. I do recommend you take the entire starter off and verify that it's still in good working order, i.E. Teeth are not chipped or broken off. Also, there is another solenoid that may need to be replaced under the hood next to your left side battery on the fender. This will get the truck started. If it has problems running after that, likey a fuel problem, pump, heater, air in the line. Hope it helps.
