WHEN TRUCK IS NOT USED FOR A FEW DAYS ENGINE TURNS OVER AND TRIES TO START THEN STARTER DISENGAGES. AFTER SEVERAL TRIES, THE ENGINE WILL START BUT RUNS VERY ROUGH AND HAS LITTLE POWER UNTIL THE ENGINE WARMS UP. ON DAYS WHERE THE TRUCK HAS NOT BEEN DRIVEN FOR 12 HOURS, THE STARTS BUT RUNS SIMILAR WHEN COLD AS ABOVE. AFTER THE INITIAL WARM UP, THE STARTS AND RUNS JUST FINE.

Sounds like you have a glow plug or glow plug controller problem. Do you have a digital multi meter? If so let me know and I can send you some tests to do see what part is bad. Let me know and we will go from there.

Ok first does the glow plug light come on on the dash? Here is a wiring chart that you can save and print. I will get more if we need more but first I do need to know about the light so I go to the right test ok.

Ok so it still sounds like the glow plug controller is not working right. My question now is do you want to go through the test procedure or take it to a mechanic and have them do it? Let me know if you want to do it then I will get the procedure and we will go through it ok. Thanks

You already have the wiring diagram of the unit in previous contact. So here is how the unit goes ok. First you need to make sure you have batt. Voltage at pin 3. Now pin 1 sends power to plug 5 and 6. Pin 2 sends power to plug 7 and 8. Pin 6 is power to plug 1 and 2. Pin 7 is power to plug 3 and 4. So see what this brings and lets go from there ok.
