1996 Ford F-150 starting/idleing

Problem is intermittent, and seems to be at random.
the engine turns over fine but sometimes just wont start or starts and idles very low and rough. Ford tech said replace maf sensor, egr pressure diff sensor, and crankshaft position sensor. All have been done but problem remains. Next ford tech said intake gasket leak and leak in pcv line. Does this make sense or should I look toward fuel system, hence pressure regulator, fuel pump. Forgot to mention gas pedal has no effect when it starts and has the idle problem
