Starting problem

Will start and run fine when cool although has a high idle and hesitates when accelerated. The truck will not start once the engine is hot. After the truck cools will start again.

I would check the ignition module mounted on the side of the distributor or if it is not on the distributor then it is on a plate on the left fender. Here is what it will look like.
