Cold starting problems

I have a 1991 Ford explorer xl 4x4 with a 4.0 v6 and when it is really cold outside it won't turn over. Usually it is just a little slow to turn over, but the colder it gets the worse it is. Today it is really cold out and it won't turn over at all. What can I try to get it started?

Do you mean it cranks over and w/n start or when you turn key to start nothing happens Nada.

It sounds like a battery problem being affected by the cold weather, maybe wrong type of battery-not up to snuff with the CCA's or a real bad connections involved that the starter is not get its share of electrical pressure.
