I have a 2007 Ford Explorer with 61,900 miles. Two weeks ago, I noticed my overflow tank for the coolant was dry. I filled it up. Last weekend, I noticed it was dry again and refilled it. Also, about 3 weeks ago, the indicator light for the coolant / oil temperature came on twice over 2 days for about 20-30 seconds, I slowed the vehicle down and the light went off. This light has not gone since. I have no loss of power in acceleration and drive at highway speeds of 65-70 mph. This morning while warming up my vehicle (temp was about 24 outside), I heard a squealing noise coming from the fan belt area. This continued for awhile. By the time I got to work - about 45 miles away, the squealing diminished a great deal - hardly noticeable. Is there a problem with my radiator? Or the cooling system? I noticed in another forum about 2006 Ford Explorers having problems with radiators. This is my 5th Explorer in over 20 years and I have never had any problems with the vehicles. I have the vehicle serviced every 5,000 miles according to manufacturer specs. Does this sound like a major repair problem? Any comments?

I need you to check something. If you heard a noise from the belt area, something tells me the water pump is leaking coolant and it got onto the belt causing the noise. Or, the noise could be from a bad waterpump. Check the pump. Under the pump, there is a weap hole. Check it for evidence of coolant leaks. Also, I would like you to place a piece of cardboard under the car to see if there is any leak. Let me know what you find and aprox where it is coming from.
