Went for a long drive and car heated up. Seems there was a leak and didnt notice. Opened the hood, found smoke near the engine and water spilled all over the engine area. Refilled water, and started the car and drove to mechanic, car was vibrating badly. Mechanic found water leakage near the engine "elbow" I guess. Replaced the elbow, leakage stopped. But car still vibrating. I was asked to replace the plugs, did so, but no use. Car still vibrates, even in Parking. My friend notcied that the spark plugs are not ford original, its some local brand (acdelco). Cables are not yet replaced. Mechanic is telling the engine head to be serviced. How can I know if the vibration is from spark plugs, cables or engine?

First, the AC DElco plugs are good and won't cause the problem. Next, if there was no vibration prior to the overheating, then chances are the ignition wires are good. That leaved the head gasket that he is talking about. Is there any white smoke coming from the exhaust? Also, you could preform a compression test to see if one of the cylenders has low compression. THat would indicate a head gasket leaking.

I can provide directions if you want.

Let me know.
Joe

Hi Joe,
No white smoke from the exhaust. Did a compression test and found cylinder #2 there is no output pressure. What to do next?
