I have a 1994 Ford Explorer was driving down the highway and it started to overheat. Stopped to let it cool down. Once it cooled, it started and I was able to go a couple of miles, then it started to lose speed and stopped altogether. Tried to start and it won't start now. All of the lights come on, but all you hear is a clicking sound that I think is coming from the silenoid. Please help me determine what the problem could be. I really need to get home.

Sounds like you have a bad starter. Did you check that?

Had that checked out and the starter checked out fine. Any other suggestions?

It overheated? Maybe theres a problem with your fuel injector and its putting too much gas into the pistons.

Here's hoping you didn't destroy your motor, overheating is one of the worst things that can happen to a motor, especially if you continue to drive, I don't like the part about slowing down and then stopping completely.

Looks like that is exactly what I have done. The motor is locked up according to the mechanic, so any tips on where I can get a motor? Bet that is going to cost a pretty penny.
