(Forgive me my not good English please.)

I live in Poland and I've got American Ford Escort LX with 1.9 SEFI engine. That engine had worked a lot with LPG gas (common in Europe), now it works on benzine. I have got problem witch performance of my vehicle. When I start my machine, it works ok for few moments. But when I driving some short time it starts to lose power, sometimes engine stops. Engine has no power, I can't sometimes start to go on, and I can't go up the hills. It has new spark plugs and high voltage wires. That is not air flow controller, because I replaced it. What is the problem?

Yes, it has catalytic convertor. Maybe that's it, because my engine also smoking a lot under the hood, when it works on faster turns. But I couldn't see where the smoke accurately goes from.
How can I check is for sure that makes a problem?

O.K. Need a vacuum gauge hook up to a port on intake. Start engine vacuum should read @20 inches.
Now rev up engine slowely to about 2000RPMS watch gague if it holds 20in. Then CAT good if it falls off towards 0in. Then CAT clogged.

If CAT good then check fuel pressure when pumps get worn they tend to not deliver enough fuel.

Hi
Look on right side of engine compartment near wiper motor. Find a connector with a light green/ yellow wire this connector is not hooked to anything. Ground this wire to car body. Then set timing 10 degrees before TDC at 700 rpms.
Also check fuel pressure 35-45 psi or kg/cm2 2.5-3.2
