It takes about 50 miles of driving for the computer to re-set it self to the new coil. Idle is controlled by the idle air solonoid. It is a round silver looking part on the top of the intake. Take the poart off clean the carbon out and replace it after you have driven the miles. Good Luck

Suggested Repair

Drive about 50 miles so the computer can reset to the new coil. Idle is controlled by the idle air solenoid, a round silver part on top of the intake. Remove it, clean out the carbon, and reinstall it after those miles.

Conversation Summary

A 1996 Ford Bronco idles at about 1500 rpm after an Accel performance coil was installed. The expert said the computer needs about 50 miles of driving to reset to the new coil, and that idle is controlled by the idle air solenoid on top of the intake, which should be removed, cleaned of carbon, and reinstalled after those miles.
