Car was running but leaking antifreeze from motor. Found that the water pump was bad. Replaced water pump, timing belt tdc, plugs, wires, battery and distributor cap and rotor. Now car will not start.

Good evening,

Sounds like the timing belt may not be on correctly.

How did you line up the marks? I attached a picture of the marks for you. Make sure they are lined up correctly.

Hello,

This sounds like your timing marks might be a tooth or two off. In the diagrams down below I have included how to align the timing marks on your vehicle properly. Please go through this guide and get back to us with what you are able to find out.

Thanks,
Alex

Hello again,

Okay, is the Malfunction Indicator Lamp MIL] or "check engine" light illuminated? If so can you please pull the Direct Trouble Code[DTC][s] for us with a code reader? If you are unsure how to do this here is a guide below:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/checking-a-service-engine-soon-or-check-engine-light-on-or-flashing

Another thing that you might want to double check is to ensure that the distributor cap isn't 180 degrees out and that the rotor is installed correctly. This would allow your vehicle to start and run, but it would run poorly and die. I have included a diagram of the distributor cap and rotor below. Please get back to us with what you are able to find out.

Thanks,
Alex
