The battery is completely drained in the Morning or even after a couple hours?

I've got a 1996 ford taurus station wagon with 120,000 miles. A couple days ago the battery charge light came on. The next day the battery was completely dead. I bought a new battery but the charge light still came on. So I shut engine off and didnt try to crank it again for couple more days. The new battery was completely dead again. What do you think could be the problem. I thought maybe the alternator but I havent run the engine long enough to drain the battery. Thanks

You have an excessive parasitic drain-disconnect the the neg. Cable put a test lite in between the cable and post test lite lits confirms the drain meaning a short within the electrical system-now start removing fuses one at a time the one that truns off the test lite is the problem area.
