Engine Mechanical problem
1996 Dodge Stratus 4 cyl Automatic 150000 miles

I just purchased a 96 stratus and was told it drove great and was parked over the winter and sat all season. I was told the battery was dead and needed a new one and possibly needed a fuel pump as they heard no noise coming from the rear end upon trying to start the car. I put in a new battery and can hear the fuel pump kick in just fine so I dont believe there's anything wrong with that. However, the car will not start. It will turn over, but wont start. I added 2 gallons of fresh gas to the tank and still nothing. I don't know what's wrong with it. Please help!

Hello, have you done any basic testing? Have a helper crank it, while you check for spark at the plugs. If you have spark everywhere, check fuel pressure.

Did you check for codes? You turn the ignition switch just till the dash lites come on, no further. Cycle the key, on--off, on---off, on, then the check engine lite starts flashing, you count the flashes to get the codes.
