Computer problem
1998 Dodge Ram V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Battery went dead this winter from nonuse. Replaced battery, cranks fine, but wont start. Got one of those cheesy $30 code readers, wont pull code, just says "err". Van was running fine before the batt went dead. Didn't want to replace computer until I'm sure thats the problem. What next?

Well I guess my first place to start would be to check if there is any spark to the plugs. Can do this by sticking a spark plug in end of one of the spark plug wires and put it close to frame or other grounded metal. Then would check to see if it getting any gas up to the injectors. There should be like a tire pressure valve looking thing on the engine u can press down to see if gas is coming out of it. Those would be my first place to start looking.
