my fiance has a 2004 dodge neon? her brake lights keep coming on when the car is off and no one is in it?

look under the dash where the brake pedal is and look for the brake light switch. It should be touching the bar for the brakes somewhere at the pedal. While she is watching mess with it and see if it makes the lights go off. It may be as simple as the switch just needing adjusted which you can see how to do by looking at the switch. It could also be broken. this is the only place to make the brake lights come on so it has to have something to do with this switch. good luck MORT
