Engine Cooling problem
1991 Dodge Dynasty 6 cyl Automatic 60000 miles

I was driving last night on the highway and my check engine light came on. I immediately pulled off at the exit. Within a few minutes, my car had overheated and was pouring steam. I let it set for almost an hour and added water. I cranked it up and it sounds like my car is angry at me. One woman described it as a tin can with marbles being violently shaken. Someone suggested it may be the water pumps hose. I would think if it was the hose, that sound wouldn't present. Thinking it's the pump itself.
How long does it take to replace the pump DIY? I can read a Chilton's and have done the pump before on another car. What am I in for with this one?

I agree. It's not a hose. The pump is like any other. The only difference is it is a little harder to get to because the position of the motor. You will end up doing some of the work through the inner fender.

Let me know if you have other questions.
