Came to a stop sign, van just died. No sputtering, noises, nothing. Just died. Cranks, but won't start.

You could have lost the ignition, fuel, or the engine's compression. Your going to have to tow it and check the computer for codes, and the engine for fuel by spraying a tiny bit of starting fluid in it. To check the engine mechanically, a compression test is used. Remember the whole ignition and fuel is controlled by a PCM module. It stores fault codes and you can use an engine scanner to see if anything shows up. You can read about each test in the section on first things to check. You have alot of miles and I wish you the best. A list of the codes is here also.

Same thing happened with my '96 Caravan; it would drive for a while then die but it would come back on every time. Spark plugs were the culprit, so maybe you should check yours out and replace them if needed.
