I had to take it to a shop for them for bypass an after market alarm system and remote start that the previous owner did n I wasn't aware of. I have owned the car for 3 years and that way the only problem till now

You need to reset security or have it scanned to see what is wrong with security system. The radio unlock will be in your owner's manual if you have one if not look online. Have a local pro scan for codes to see if there is a body module problem for the lights and check fuses under hood as well and in car

You have a fault with the air bag system and should have it checked out A.S.A.P. It could be something as simple as a loose connector.

2001 Impala dash lights & radio lights black out. They work sometimes, mostly in the daytime. I tried shining a flashlight @ what I think is the daylight sensor (in the driver w/s defroster). I also need to know if I can only gain access to the switch by removing the dash? Thanks. E-mail mr_mac43@msn. Com with dashlights in the subject line.

I have a 2001 Impala, about 3 months ago all of the dash light except the odometer and gear section lighting went out, this includes my sterring wheel radio controls as well as all the lighting on my radio and AC/heat section, during dusk the radio and odometer area will light up but not for long and gauges are still out. Interior lamps all work. Fuses have been checked and are fine. Does anybody have an idea as to what causes this?

My wife's 2003 has a very similar problem.
Chances are you either have a bad headlight switch, or a problem with your BCM.
Take your headlight switch out (unplug it), then put a jumper between the brown/white wire and the grey wire; your instrument panel lights should come on. If they do, replace your switch, if they don't you likely have a problem with your bcm (it's also possible that the lights themselves went bad).

You have to reset the pressure monitor. Press the "DISP" button on your radio & hold it until you hear a beep from your speakers. Cycle through the settings until you see the tire monitor. Reset it there & your light should go off.

If you can't get this to work, turn the key to ACC, depress the gas peddle 3 times. Should hear a beep. That resets the tire monitor too.

Try turning your dimmer switch back and forth, it may be a bad headlight switch. See if they will flicker when you do this
