It ran fine then it sat for a over a year. Replaced the fuel and fuel filter, rotor, cap, plugs, plug wires.

Tried to turn over when it's primed then quits, just cranks.

Hi,

If it tries to start when you prime it, then it is a fuel-related issue. Have you checked the fuel pump pressure to make sure it is within the manufacturer's specifications? If not, that is where I would start.

Here is a link that explains how it's done:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-fuel-system-pressure-and-regulator

Also, check to see if there are diagnostic trouble codes stored. This vehicle has an OBD1 system and doesn't require a scan tool to retrieve codes. All you will need is a short jumper wire or even a paper clip.

Here is a link that explains how it's done:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/buick-cadillac-chevy-gmc-oldsmobile-pontiac-gm-1983-1995-obd1-code-definitions-and-retrieval-method

Try these two things and let me know the results. Also, I attached the manufacturer's fuel pressure specifications below for you. You will need a fuel pressure gauge to do this, but if you don't have one, most parts stores will lend one to you.

Take care,

Joe

Hi,

The wiring looks like someone was checking things in the past. Is the injector connector on the left burnt? I see black areas.

Also, if you were not getting fuel when you ran power, it sounds like either an injector issue or the wiring. I'm not sure where you tested from.

Let me know.

Joe

I took a transistor radio battery and connected it to the contacts on the injector contacts. The left dribbled a drop then quit and the right (burnt on top for some reason) did nothing. I have not tried the first two tests yet. Will try that today. The bigger problem is I have MS and my hands can be an issue at times.

Thank you, Joe, it was the fuel pump unfortunately.

I got a good deal to get it replaced locally.
Thank you for your help.
Best- J.
