My van after 2 days of not being started in cold weather wouldn't start. I got a jump and still no luck so I took my battery in and it had a bad cell. After installing new battery it would crank no start. I rented a code reader and got p0601 which led me to get a programmed PCM installed. Now the van will crank and then it kicks. It sounds and feels like it starts for a split second when it kicks but goes off.

Things of note:
* My speedometer went out a few days before this first started.
* I regularly ran it on low fuel.
* I can hear the hum of the fuel pump when key is on the on position.
* The pop in CD player lights flicker.
* Headlights and all interior lights CD player works.

Hi,

I need you to check for both ignition spark and fuel pressure. Although the pump is running, it may not be producing enough pressure.

Here are a few links to help:

Let me know what you find,

Hello and thanks for the response. The situation has changed a bit since my post. I got the van started and running but now out of nowhere I'm getting error codes p0202, p0204, p0205 injector circuit open for 2, 4 and 5. So the car runs really weak. Had no problems like that out of the van before only after we finally got it started after 16 days setting and replacing the programmed PCM. I've heard caravans are known for having shorts or melted harness but that's about all I know. Any insights PR guidance would be incredibly appreciated.

Hi,

You are correct about the codes. It can be an open or a short. The thing is, it can also be a bad PCM, which you already replaced. Since every one of these codes contains the same possibility and it wasn't an issue prior, I suspect it is at the PCM harness. I am going to provide directions for the P0202. It is basically the same test for each of the codes just different wires are tested. Either something happened at the PCM connector (pushed in or bent pin, or you got a bad PCM. Here is a list of possible causes. When you see them you'll understand why I feel it is PCM or harness related. The others usually don't just go bad all at once especially 3 injectors at the same time.

Possible causes:

- ASD relay output circuit open
- Intermittent condition
- Fuel injector
- Fuel injector driver circuit open
- Fuel injector driver circuit shorted to ground
- PCM

The attached pics are a diagnostic flow chart for the P0202. Others are the nearly the same. If you determine the issue for this, you will have most likely found the problem for all three.

Take a look through the flow chart and let me know if it helps.
