Crank no start?

When I go to start it cranks but does not start, I just bought the car the dude I bought it from said that he just put a new ignition coil on it. He also said he just replaced the transmission and he said he replaced the spark plugs and wires. When I tried to start it one time with starting fluid it started but didn't stay running, but that was just one time. now it won't even start with starting fluid. Any help or suggestions on what it might be?

Hi,

In most cases, either fuel or ignition spark is lost. If it is fuel, the vehicle usually starts with starting fluid for a few seconds, and it did but now has stopped trying.

Do me a favor. Check to see if there is spark to the plugs.
