I have the vehicle listed above that will crank but I am not getting any spark. Where should I start trouble shooting?

Hi,

Often times a loss of spark is due to a failed crankshaft position sensor. This sensor can fail and still not set a diagnostic trouble code.

If you have a live data scan tool, check to see if there is an RPM signal when cranking the engine. If there isn't, that is where I would start. See pic 1 below.

If you have no scanner but the vehicle has a tachometer, see if it moves a little while cranking the engine.

Do me a favor. take a look through this link and let me know if it mirrors what you are experiencing or have experienced:

Let me know. Also, the last two pics are the directions for replacing the sensor.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
