I have a 1997 t&c that I just replaced the condensor in and recharged the ac. After about two weeks of driving I start have a problem. First the engine would shutter after I slowed down at a stop light but not cut off. Then after a few days the engine stared cutting off at stops. And now after I start the engine and shift to drive or reverse the engine shuts down right away. I noticed that If I shift into drive and give it gas right away that I runs normal but as soon as I come to a stop it cuts off. The check engine light does not even come on. What could be the cause of this problem? Is it a transmission problem, engine, computer or what?

I would start by checking the fuel pump pressure. Have you ever replaced the fuel filter?

Here is a how to for checking fuel pump pressure:

Let me know what you find.

The fuel pressure is Ok and I have also cleaned the throttle body. I forgot to mention that it idles fine in park and neutral. I'm trying to avoid going to a repair shop to be charged for parts I really don't need because I have no idea what this problem is. So is there any other checks I can do before I have to pay an arm and a leg for a repair shop to do for me guys?

The only other things I can think of without the check engine light, is the catylatic converter starting to plug or you have a vacuum leak. Chek those and let me know what you find.

It's not a vacume leak or converter clog. The engine just shuts down clean when it stops, no sputtering at all. One machanic said it is probably a valve body solenoid cloged up or the transmission needs to be rebuilt. I don't Know which way to go.
