1996 Chrysler Sebring fuel pump

1996 Chrysler Sebring 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Hello. I have the fuel tank disconnected and removed. I cannot remove the top ring to get the pump out. What do i need to remove the ring? Everything is plastic. I tried tapping lightly, but it won't budge. Does it unscrew, or does it turn a 1/4 turn to come off?

Hi, if this a convertable, my info shows it unscrews, I believe counter clock wise. You might use something blunt, tap different ridges on the ring in a counter clockwise direction. I don't know how rough you can get with it? My info shows a special tool was used. Be careful and don't break anything. I had to put a small disclaimer in there, not responsible for broken parts.
