Car Running Hot

I have a 1996 Chrysler Cirrus 6 cylinder..with 174,000 kilos I have had numerus problems of late...had to have the fuel pump replaced, sensor for the engine, distributor replaced and now the power sterring is gone....i have a leak but when I put in more fluid it doesn't help much.

My problem today is that the engine light is on and the car is smoking...not from the rad but under the hood and the temperature gauge is maxed out hot after 30 minutes of driving. All fluids are good.

Help, what is wrong and Thanks in advance.

Well you need to fix the powere steering leak for sure, the smoking may be power steering fluid burning. If the belt is getting wet it may be slipping and causing the waterpump to not turn and therefore running hot.
