I have a 2000 Chevy, Silverado Z71 4x4. With 117,000 miles 5.3 liter.
The truck was hit while parked. The R leaf spring, shock tier and wheel were broken. I have 285/75R/16's on the truck. They have 25,000 miles on them. The insurance Co. Wants to replace the damaged side.
My questions are. What is an exceptable diffrence in tread depth between the tires? Also what is an acceptable diffrence in higth for the springs?
Thank You
Larry

As long as they are on the rear the tread depth difference wont matter. If they are rotated to the fron, then you would most likely get a slight pull. Spring height difference? Be sure they replace it with a Z-71 package spring and shock, ins co's dont like to spend the coin, but they have to make it like it was in the first place. Did you have the frame checked to be sure it didnt get a twist in it?
