The truck will crank but it wont start up. Its a chevy with over 150000 miles and they are known for having fuel pumps going out. Im no car expert but the way to check this is to go under the vehicle and have someone switch it to ON while I listen for the noise of the fuel pump coming on correct? I did that and I didnt hear anything. Is it a load noise when it comes on?

Isn't their a way to hit the gas tank with a hammer and start it once?

and my other question is: If its the fuel pump, and I'm no car expect, and I replace it or should I just leave it to a mechanic.

Thanks

Do you hear the fuel pump when you turn the key to run if so check the fuel pressure, if not power the fuel pump from the battery if it comes on, again check fuel pressure if not the pump has failed

Greetings. Not 2 contradict another- I was reading the reply on this post. 1 has 2 remember that the original person who posted the complaint stated he is no mechanic nor has knowledge. In Reading the reply I found it somewhat difficult 2 follow. And I understand the system. Basically NEway. Another point is that the reply kept focusing on the pump and not a relay or other. One should diagnose and repair rather than assume and replace.

I'm not done with the question all am doing is flushing it out-I can get to the ECM B fuse, the fuel pump relay and the computer controlled of the relay-

Next time I hear anything from you I'll will delete you and bar you from here-Don't open your mouth if you're unable to justify your opinion.
