I'm trying to put a mechanical fuel pump on a 96 chev 350. The pushrod hole is blocked. What now?

The engine is rebuilt for a street rod and is installed. Can anything be done to drill the port without removing the engine?

I would recommend an electric fuel pump. Is there a reason why you want a mechanical one? As far as drilling the port, you will get metal shavings in the engine.

Hey I got a wild idea? Magnetize the drill bit so the shavings stick to it and clean it often? Throw some magnets in oil pan for extra measure?
