About 3 weeks ago I began to experience trouble getting my tahoe to start. It would turn over and finally it would start. The problem has progressively worsened, and finally yesterday while driving down the freeway the motor cut off and would not start again. I changed the fuel filter, it was filthy, black and clogged and the motor still does not start.W hat are some other common problems in the fuel system I should look for, and in what order do I proceed?
Also when I removed the cover from the throttle body and poured fuel in, the truck started but then immediately died.

Check the fuel pressure with a mechanical gauge. If the filter was that dirty, you may need a new pump and clean the gas tank out. If the pump is partially clogged, it can overheat and fail.

A easy way to check the fuel pump is to listen for it when you turn the key on but don't start the truck. You should hear the fuel pump making a humming noise. But there is a relay under the hood for the fuel pump also. But I've never really head of the relay going bad.

I drove my tahoe to the store one day and came back out and would not start.I checked everything. But it all came down to a dirty fuse in the fuse block under the hood not making good contact.
