having a problem w/ either the window switch or the window motor. when the switch is pressed to raise/lower there is a clicking noise from a relay but no window movement. I suspect a fuse might be the problem but which one?
thanks, Carter

You can check the motor by hooking a power source to the plug of the switch pos. to one of the connectors and neg to the other. try both ways 1s up and 1s down. you can use a battery charger for this with wire so you can get to the conn. we do it at work all the time. 8)

Suggested Repair

There are no individual fuses for each window. The window lift motor may be bad. Test it by applying power at the switch plug: connect positive to one terminal and negative to the other, then reverse polarity, briefly in each direction. A battery charger and jumper wires can be used.

Conversation Summary

The owner of a 2000 Silverado reported that the driver-side window does not move when the switch is pressed, although a relay clicks, and suspected a fuse. An expert said there are no fuses for each window and that the window lift motor may be bad. Another contributor suggested testing the motor by briefly applying power both ways at the switch connector with a battery charger and wires.
