My wife was driving our truck when she said it started acting like it was running out of gas. I have replaced the fuel filter, fuel pump, spark plugs and spark plug wires. I also ran an OBD scanner twice on it. The first time the scanner said the fuel pressure sensor was bad, so I replaced the fuel pump again. The second time running the scanner the truck passed. My truck has not ran since the day it acted like it was running out of gas. What else could cause this problem, camshaft postioning sensor or crankshaft postioning sensor? One other thing is my truck doesn't have a brake boost but has the hose that comes from the back of the intake manifold and is suppost to go to the brake boost. Where does this hose go to?

Hello,

It could very well be the crank position sensor.
It does have the typical symptom of a faulty crank sensor.
You may or may not get a error code when a crank sensor fails.

It might also be the coolant temperature sensor. Faulty temperature sensor will provide incorrect data which will trigger the engine to not start. It could send a "too hot" signal and the engine will not start as a protection.

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know of any questions.

Thank you.
