Full operating temp and then shutting it off?

Here is my problem. The truck fires right up when it is cold in the morning. After driving it long enough for it to get to full operating temp and then shutting it off and letting it sit for an hour or so, getting it started again is a real bear. What happens is the engine cranks for a good 5-10 seconds and then the engine chokes to a idel after it turns over. Keep in mind, the engine fires right back up if I shut the engine off and turn it back on a minute or two later, this is only after it sits a few hours.

I have a few different ideas as to what this could be, but am not sure. Fuel system pressure? Control Module? Fuel pump? I'd like a pro's opinion before I start spending money on parts and time on repair.

Thank you for your time, I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello,

It sounds like you might have a faulty crank positing sensor.
When a crank sensor goes bad it will impact how the engine start.
Typically you will have starting issue due to engine temperature, especially when hot the engine can stall or not start after shutting off.
When a crank sensor fails it may or may not trigger the check engine light.

You need to check to see if you are getting power to the sensor. You should have 5V to the pin.

Here are few helpful articles:

I have attached the replacement procedure for your reference.

Please let me know of any questions.

Thank you.
