I need to know why the a/c compressor is never engaging. I checked my relay and discovered continuity between diagonal cross poles only. Im not sure if anything else is the problem.

Do you know if the system has freon in it. You may have a leak and there is nothing in it. If there is nothing in it the compressor will not turn on.

I APPRECIATE YOUR TIME! WELL THE GUY AT THE SHOP I STOPPED AT PUT HIS GAUGES ON AND SAID THE LINE WAS CHARGED. HE THOUGHT IT WAS ELECTRICAL, LIKE MAYBE A BAD GROUND OR A BAD SWITCH, RELAY, OR FUSE. I CHECKED ALL FUSES DEALING WITH THE A/C. THEY CHECKED OUT. SO IM THINKING ABOUT TRYING TO PURCHASE THE RELAY WHICH IS RELATIVELY CHEAP. IM AT A LOSS FOR OPTIONS SO ANY RESPONSE HELPS, AND THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR TIME.

Before you buy parts, take a screw driver and on the passenger side there is a silver cylinder. There should be a switch (low pressure switch) either mounted on the cylinder, or on the line right next to it in the AC line. Start your vehicle and turn on the AC. Lightly tap the switch with the screw driver and see if the compressor turns on. These switches use to go bad alot. If it does replace the switch.

OK THANKS A LOT. I WILL TRY THAT RIGHT WHEN I GET TO THE HOUSE. I BELEIVE YOUR TALKING ABOUT THE CYLINDER WITH THE STAINLESS LINE RUNNING INTO IT. IF IM NOT MISTAKEN THAT'S WHERE THE GUY UNSCREWED TWO BLACK PLASTIC CAPS TO CHECK PRESSURE. JUST WONDERING SO I'M PROBABLY WRONG. YOU MUST BE IMPLYING THAT THE SWITCH COULD BE LOSING A SECURE CONNECTION WHICH IS NOT COMPLETLY SENDING THE SIGNAL TO TURN THE COMPRESSOR ON. THANKS AGAIN, AND SORRY IF I'M BUGGING YOU MAN I'M JUST SICK OF RIDING IN THIS TEXAS HEAT AND DON'T WANT TO DROP 1,000 DOLLARSON A COMPRESSOR
