Hello,
It sounds like you might have a faulty crank position sensor.
Usually when a crank sensor goes bad the engine will stall, it could also produce random misfire. The engine light may or may not get triggered.
Typically the crank sensor will fault when the engine is hot.

I have attached the replacement procedure for the crank sensor.
Note: You will have to remove the starter in order to gain access to the sensor.
