Now it will turn over but will not run?

Hi I have a 1999 chevy silverado 1500 2 wheel drive 4.8 litre v8 and the starter went out on it about 2 months ago and just got around to replacing it today. Now it will turn over but will not run I checked the fuel filter and it was fine also the spark plugs, and if it was getting fuel. At first it wouldnt sputter or anything but after I took the fuel filter off and replaced it it started to sputter and spat a little bit but then would just die on me and I have no idea what it is can anyone give me some ideas please I need truck just finally found a job and need to be able to get to it lol

Clearly the starter would not affect the starting of the vehicle outside of just spinning the engine. So, if the engine is turning then the starter is operating properly.

I suspect you have a fuel pump that has failed so I would suggest we start with this and then see what the pressure is. Please let us know what questions you have.
