On My 1995 Chevy 1500 4WD the transfer case will not shift from 2WD to 4WD. The shift lever on the side of the transfer case seems stuck and won't buge. The shift linkage connected to the shift lever appears to be free to move. I would appreiciate any help I can get with this problem. Thanks!

Unhook the shifter from t-case just to be sure it moves freely on its own. If it does then the t-case will need to come apart. They are pretty simple inside, but it sounds like something broke.

It sounds like the fork inside the front differential is having an issue or the actuator is not working fully. Here is a bulletin this problem with an exploded diagrams of the front differential so you can see how it works. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.
