i replaced engine, when I finished install, tried to start and found no fire. I checked power to coil and had 12 volts there, where do I check next

You have to check on the negative side to see if your getting a pulsing - voltage when cranking.

Do you get spark from coil directly? I dont know if you mean spark as fire or vehicle starting as fire.
