1995 Chevy S-10 starting problem

: ? Can popping clutch/push starting a stick shift cause teeth in flywheel to break? Some years ago a person I trust had said this but another mechanic says this is not possible? Please if you KNOW would you settle this :| Thank You! :

Not its not going to do anything to the flywheel, flywheel is used for starting only with the starter, if you pop the clutch there is nothing that can affect the flywheel unless you try to turn the ignition to the start position as your popping the clutch.

The owners manual on some suggest push starting it if the battery is dead.
