Our Chevy S-10 won't start. We've replaced the plugs, wires, distributor, rotor, modulater, and the fuel filter. We can get it to start by pouring a small amount of gas in the carburator. It starts right up and runs fine. If you let it sit for a few minutes, it will turn over but won't start. We can hear the fuel pump running before we turn the key all the way to start, so that doesn't seem to be the problem. Any ideas about what else it could be?

Hi winkellt and TY for the donation

What you need to do here is check the actual fuel pressure with a fuel pressure gauge designed for your fuel system and check for injection pulses while engine is cranking over also test the fuel pump relay and fuel pump/oil pressure sending unit.

How do you test the fuel pump relay and the fuel pump/oil pressure sending unit on a 93 Chevy S10? Thanks!

Do you have electrical experiences/skills and the usage of a DVOM -and fuel pressure gauge If not I strongly recommend you bring the vehicle in-this problem is not simple and can get complicated.

The fuel pump relay is at no. 3 and Fuel pump/oil pressure sending unit is at on top rear of engine no. 8
