Hello my name is drew williams. I have a 1989 chevy corsica and it has 158000 miles on it. Recently I jus got an oil change and changed the spark plugs on the car. It has a new fuel injector and fuel throttle position sensor basically new fuel set up. I jus got done driving 7 hours from ohio to missouri about half way there the car started to drive slower like the fuel line was clogged. The car wouldn't accelerate like normal and the top speed was also decreased. A smell of gas was also present as the car was running. After I had arrived I let the car cool down. Later that night I tried to start up the car and it started normally. The only difference was that as it started it reved really high and idoled higher than normal but after you let it sit for a bit it would go down. When I tired to drive it it went for about 500 ft normally then it died. The car will start to turn over but it will not start. I was wondering what was wrong with it we check the spark plugs and its not getting any spark at all. Fuel is running fine to the fuel injector. Also the spark plug hoses are new. Talking with a retired mechanic he said it might be the timing belt. What do you think I could do to get the car running asap? Thank you so much for your help.
