Repeated heater core issues

I got a friends car in here working on it. Again. I replaced the heater core a few months back, now it appears to be bad again. He says that this is the fourth or fifth heater core he has had to replace.1989 2.2 Any Ideas? I'm stumped

By bad do you mean it's leaking? When you install it are you making sure that the heater core is properly fitting inside the heater box? Because metal on metal can rub a hole in no time, that is if it's leaking again. Let me know. I reply as soon as I can

Turned out to be a worn hose, but he did have to have the heater core replaced a bunch of times. Not surprising with the 2.2 I guess.
