Can I remove the Head on A 1994 Chevy Cavalier without taking the intake manifold off?

No. The 3.1L has to have it completely removed to take the head off. The 2.2L has to have it disconnected and pulled away, so in both cases it needs to be removed.

I wouldnt. Which engine do you have?
The 3.1L would be like working on an engine stand, just have to bend over a little. You can rotate that engine over to get to the rear head if that is the one you are removing.
The 2.2L is right out there in the open. Just through you some fender covers on it and get to work. Should have the head off in about 2 hours.
