This service engine soon light is different than a check engine light on GM products. Normally there are codes that go along with this light that a lot of scanners cannot read. However, if there are no codes then you more than likely have a fuse blown or some less serious issue. This is a common thing that is not understood so I would start there.
Go through all your fuse boxes and check all the fuses. Replace any that are blown.

Also, it varies between GM vehicles, but this light can also mean you are due for an oil change. So here is a guide that will help with resetting this light if that is the issue:

If none of this works then we will have to dig further and check the scanner that you are using to find out if it has the ability to scan for body codes (B codes) because you may have a code but just not able to pull it.
