I have a 77 camaro. One day I was leaving Kroger and turned the key, it sounding like it was turning over but not starting. After a while it stopped cranking and started making a clicking sound until it finally just stop making noises at all. Now I try to start it and nothing happens. Could it be the battery or the starter? Please help.

Short answer is yes. This sounds exactly like a battery issue. I would suggest testing the battery and then replace it depending on the results.

Here are a few guides that will help with this type of testing and replacement of the battery:

Normal failures of batteries happen all of a sudden and happen with a clicking noise one day and then eventually they will be drained enough that they don't even turn the starter solenoid on to even click. You may hear a single click at this point.

Please run through all this material and let us know what you find. Thanks
