I have 1973 RS camaro with a 350 engine that has an electronic distributor.
So here is what happened I was taking my car out for a spin but it burns alot of oil for some reason that I cant figure out I have checked the compresion and its perfec on all cylinders so dont know what can be causing it. So I wnt to kragen to buy some oil. After putting in som oil I tried to start the car and it woudnt start. It would crank and if I press the accelerator it would rev but then it would just shut off. My fuel gauge doesnt wrk so I figured it needed gas bu that wasnt the problem I put som gas in the carbeurator but that dindt help eithr. There was spark also. So I realizied that the car would start when I turnd the ignition switch to the crank but as oon as I let t go back to its on positon it would kill the engine. I was able to drive it home by connecting a wire from the battery to the disttributor in a sense hotwiring it. I think that there is a problem with the igition switch but I am not sure can a short cause the same problem. HOw can I figure out what is causing the problem please help.
