As I walk to my car, I disarm the alarm. When I get in and turn the key and push in the clutch to start, all interior lights and dash lights come on but the car will not start--no noise. Then the security light is the only light that is showing. I play with it a couple of times -- let the car sit for a minute -- then it starts. I have already purchased a new battery, and this problem persists. What could be the problem?

If the security light is flashing, that is where the problem is. The only people who have the proper test equipment is a dealer.

The problem is not the alarm system itself. Its the Vehicle Anti theft system. This system engages if the computer does not recieve the proper resistance from the key. If you don't really care about having the system operative and want to save some cash by not buying a new key and/or ignition there is an alternative. You will need a basic background in electronics to do this alone. If you aren't electronically savvy, dont be afraid to call a friend who is.
