I replaced the fuel pump 3/08. Now another dealer says I need a new fuel pump. How long does a fuel pumplast. The car starts, but you must let it warm up a few minutes or it will hesitate and have no pep. Once warm, it goes fine.

Hi there,

fuel pumps should last quite a long time, many years infarct. The main problem with modern fuel pumps are that they don't like low fuel tank levels, as they tend to pick up a lot of muck from the bottom of the tank and also if the tank is run low, the action of the return fuel can aerate the fuel and the pumps can tend to over heat, most pump work best with a min of about 1/4 tank of fuel or more.
