My car ran perfect. My girl took my keys brought them back I went to start my car and it wouldn't start. And it said key error try again. A friend told me to spray wd40 in the ignition and put a new battery in the key and it would start. So I did and it started, but when I turned it off it wouldn't start back up and hasn't started since. Can you help me?

This begs the question, what did she do with your keys? Did she start the vehicle or do anything with the vehicle?

Either way, we need to start with checking for codes and finding out if there are any there that would explain what is happening.

Here is a guide that will help with this:

If there are no codes, does the security light remain on when you turn the key to the on position?
